This model repreesents a complete and innovative view of the most important lithospher and oceanic structures, though the height is not in scale. In fact, in the same model active amd passive margins, oceanic ridges with rift valley, Benjoff plane, oceanic trenches, continental shelf and
slopes are represented. The detailed representation of the earth layers allows the understanding of the fundamental importance of plate movements in relation to volcanic activity and to seismicity. The oceanic floor spreading is well characterised, though not in scale, to allow the understanding of the development of a rift into a new structure.
